Sebagai manusia primitif, anda dituntut untuk bertahan hidup dari serangan berbagai macam makhluk pra sejarah. Tentu saja bekal anda adalah senjata “jadul” jaman pras sejarah. Gameplay yang disuguhkan game Caveman2 tidak berbeda jauh dengan versi pertamanya. Hanya saja ada sedikit tambahan berupa musuh dan senjata yang lebih beragam.

Untuk persenjataan, anda jangan berharap akan mendapatkan senjata pistol atau roket. Yang ada hanyalah batu, kapak, pisau, dan tombak. Soal Grafis tampaknya Caveman 2 lebih baik dibandingkan versi pertamanya. Anda akan berada dalam bahaya jika tidak mampu berkonsentrasi, membagi focus antara membasmi musuh dan melompat melewati rintangan. So, bertahanlah manusi gua!

MD HELICOPTERS AH/MH-6 LITTLE BIRD

     Pernah melihat poster atau foto beberapa personel pasukan khusus dengan senjata lengkap, duduk bertengger di sisi kanan-kiri heli imut yang bagian depannya membulat seperti telur kaca? Ya, itulah heli AH- atau MH-6 yang merupakan derivate dari heli intai ringan OH-6 Cayuse lansiran MD Helicopters yang sudah terbang perdana pada tahun 1960-an. Tahun kelahiran boleh lah tua, namun airframe baru tetap bias dibuat, sementara kecanggihan perlengkapan sudah pasti mengikuti perkembangan terkini.

Varian terkini heli imut yang kerap dijuluki “Si Telur” ini sesungguhnya merupakan versi militer dari heli sipil MD-500 yang juga banyak dipakai di seantero dunia. Hanya saja khusus untuk varian yang dioperasikan “Night Stalkers”, system perkebalan (wiring) dirombak agar heli imut ini bisa dipasangi tabung roket di sayap kecil di sisi badan heli (stub wing). Sayap kecil ini juga didesain khusus agar dapat menjadi tempat bertengger personel pasukan khusus. Fungsi utama varian MH-6 adalah untuk menyusupkan tim kecil (2 hingga 3 orang per heli) ke area sasaran yang medannya sulit untuk dicapai heli seukuran Blackhawk. Sedangkan versi AH-6 lebih dikhususkan untuk dukungan tembakan ringan/terbatas. Perbedaan keduanya adalah ada pada konfigurasi kursi dan persenjataan

SIKORSKY MH-60 BLACKHAWK

Heli yang namanya beken dipakai sebagai jdul film yang diangkat dari kisah nyata itu (Blackhawk Down) sudah menghuni sarang “Night Stalker” sejak awal 1980-an. Heli yang berbasis dari heli angkut taktis Angkatan Darat AS UH-60 Blackhawk (yang dipasarkan di pasar ekspor dengan kode S70) ini merupakan heli yang ragam variannya paling banyak dilansir untuk keperluan pasukan AS. Meski tak seluruh varian diakui secara resmi, namun setidaknya ada 5 yang tercatat memperkuat 160th SOAR:

>.  MH-60A: varian awal, dilengkapi FLIR, kokpit yang kompatibel dengan NVG, tangki bahan bakar tambahan serta senapan M134 door gun. Satu-satunya varian yang tak dilengkapi batang pengisian bahan bakar, mesin menggunakan T700-GE701.

>.   MH-60L: varian pertama yang menggunakan refueling probe yang dipasang di sisi kanan bawah kokpit. Dilengkapi FLIR, terrain following radar, hingga laser rangefinder. Mesin ditingkatkan dengan tipe T700-GE701C. Juga varian pertama yang mampu menembakan rudal anti tank AGM-114 hellfire.

>.  MH-60K: jangan terkecoh dengan urutan abjad, karena varian ini justru lebih mutakhir ketimbang MH-60L, meski masih mengusung tipe mesin yang sama. Heli yang mulai dipesan tahun 1988 ini dilengkapi CommonAvionics Architectures System (CAAS) yaitu glass cockpit buatan Rockwell Collins, serta tentunya FLIR, AN/APQ-174B terrain following radar serta perangkat peringatan dini yang terintegrasi dengan pelontar chaff dan flares.

>.  MH-60L DAP: varian khusus MH-60L untuk “Direct Action Penetrator”, yaitu memberikan dukungan tembakan berat terarah. Untuk itu MH-60L DAP diimbuhi sepasang stub wing yang dilengkapi dengan kanon M230 kaliber 30mm serta tabung roket hydra 70. Door gun dan fitur avionik selebihnya sama dengan MH-60L.

>.   MMH-60M: varian MH-60K dengan mesin yang ditingkatkan kemampuannya yaitu dari tipe T706-GE700

Sosoknya paling bongsor ketimbang rekan-rekan sejawat sesame andalan “Night Stalker”. Suaranya pun paling bising dan downwashnya (hembusan angin akibat putara baling-baling). Bikin gentar diantara heli-heli 160th SOAR lainnya. Itulah harga yang harus dibayar untuk kapasitas angkut serta kecepatan yang mempuni. Kapasitas angkut disini bukan melulu jumlah pasukan khusus yang bias diangkut sekali jalan, melainkan juga tonase bawaan nya. Maklum, Chinook memang tergolong heli kelas medium-to-weight. Berdasarkan pengalaman di Afghanistan, untuk urusan angkut-mengankut, satu MH-47G dapat menggantikan lima MH-60L.


Heli yang beroprasi rotor ganda (mirip CH-46 Sea Knight yang lebih kecil) itu varian khusus untuk pasukan khususnya sudah malang melintang sejak pertengahan decade 1980-an. Setidaknya ada 3 varian yang dimodifikas khusus yang dikenal, dan semuanya telah dilengkapi batang pegisian gahan bakar udara? Refueling probe yang terpasang di sebelah kanan kokpit, mirip penempatan pada MH-60.

>. MH-47D: varian awal “Special Forces Chinook”, dengan peningkatan “baru sekedarnya” untuk mendukung misi pasukan khusus. Di antara fitur tambahan adalah “fast-rope rapelling system”. 

>. MH-47E: gampang dikenali berkat sponson samping (tonjolan berisi tangki bahan bakar di sisi kanan dan kiri badan heli). 

>. MH-47G: varian terbaru yang menghuni sarang “Night Stalker”, beberapa bagian airframe mengambil basis varian angkut CH-47F yang tercanggih. Kokpit sudah dilengkapi “Glass Cockpit” Common Avionics Arcgitecture System (CAAS) lansiran Rockwell Collins.
